Tamin Enterprises was founded in 1983 as a partnership for developing counted cross-stitch kits. Over the
years, business evolved to include machine design and Stirling engine
development.
In 2001 Tamin Enterprises
created a separate company called Tamin˜a California corporation˜located in
Half Moon Bay, California. Their facilities include an
engineering office, which uses Computer Aided Design (CAD) and other engineering
software, a machine shop for producing parts for prototypes and an engine-test
facility. Tamin are currently building an endurance machine for testing piston
seals as part of on going engine-development program.
Tamin is engaged in research and development (R&D) of
Stirling-cycle engines initially for powering electrical generator sets.
Future applications include combined heat and power (CHP), hybrid
vehicles, recreational vehicles (RVs), farm and construction equipment, boats
and lawn and garden equipment. Tamin intend to replace IC prime mover engines with
Stirling-cycle technology in everyday consumer, industrial and commercial
applications.
