By 1907 Jost was dealing in electrical and mechanical equipment as well as ventilating fans. The Jost Engineering Co Ltd is still in business in Bombay.

Carl Jost patented his ventilating fan in 1905. In his patent he states that he was a subject of the King of Hungary residing in Bombay, British India. It is probable that the fans were manufactured in Germany and exported to India.
