Hayward-Tyler

Hayward-Tyler of London built and sold pumping engines under licience from the inventor A K Rider of the USA. Three sizes of engine were available, rated at 1/4 HP with 5 inch diameter pistons, 1/2 HP with 6 3/4 inch dia pistons and 1 horse power with 10 1/4 inch dia pistons. This type of engine is called a compression engine and uses two pistons working with a phase angle difference of 90 degrees.
